Errors can be displayed on the screen if the printer identifies an issue due to a defect in one of the printer's systems.


​The platen temperature exceeds the maximum limit. Check the short circuit of the bed thermistor.

Begin by checking that the printer is not exposed to drafts or temperature variations. Error 1 is mostly related to a connection issue with the bed. To verify its condition, you should open the printer. Then, on the motherboard (as shown in the photo below), disconnect the BED thermistor and the two BED heating element cables.

Once done, you can inspect the cables to see if everything appears to be in good condition.

Then, reconnect the heated bed and the thermistor properly, making sure they are well stripped.

The extruder temperature exceeds the maximum limit. Check for a short circuit in the The extruder thermistor..

Error 2 is mainly due to the temperature sensor of the print head being too tightly secured. Typically, when this happens, the temperature display is abnormally high.

Simply loosen the sensor slightly.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to replace it. the sensor.

The bed temperature is below the minimum limit. No signal, check the connection of the bed thermistor.

Start by checking that the printer is not exposed to drafts or temperature variations. Error 3 is mostly related to a connection issue with the bed. To verify its condition, you should open the printer. Then, on the motherboard (as shown in the photo below), disconnect the BED thermistor and the two BED heating element cables.




Once done, you can reconnect the thermistor properly, making sure it is properly stripped.

The nozzle temperature is below the minimum temperatures.

Heating of the print head failed, unable to reach temperature. Check the connector of the nozzle thermistor..

Err5 corresponds to a temperature fault of the ​nozzle thermistor. It is also recognizable because the extruder temperature does not rise when heating is requested. You need to check the various connections of the ​nozzle thermistor on the terminals (Motherboard AND splitter). 

To start, you should check the connection of the ​ on the terminal of the extrusion head. Having a multimeter is ideal for measuring the voltage at the bornier. A voltage of around 24 V should be present when heating is requested.

  • ​If the 24 V is present, it means there is an issue with the heating cartridge ​. Start by disconnecting it and then reconnecting it, making sure to check beforehand if both wires are properly stripped.
  • If it remains at 0 V on the terminal, you will need to check the connection at the motherboard.

Repeat the same operation on the motherboard. It can be observed that a red LED lights up on the motherboard when heating is requested. 

  • If the 24 V is present, the problem originates from a higher level.
  • If it remains at 0 V on the terminal, the issue is coming from the motherboard.

Exceeding the heating limit. Check the thermistor or PID settings.

Err7 typically corresponds to a fault with abnormal temperature variations in the nozzle.

Several possible cases:

  •  The ventilation channel is improperly placed.( voir video ).
  • The printer is exposed to drafts of air.
    • You should print in a room with an ambient temperature between 19°C and 25°C and avoid exposing it to drafts of air. If cool air cools down the nozzle too quickly, the printer goes into safety mode (pauses the print) thinking there's a technical issue. Avoid placing it near a window, door, or an air draft. If possible, print in enclosed spaces.
  • The temperature sensor is too tightly secured at the heating block screw.
    • Loosen the temperature sensor screw very slightly; this case is visible on your screen because you have random temperature spikes, going from the set temperature to an extreme temperature (e.g., 300°C).
  • During dual extrusion printing, there is a temperature drop when switching between the two extruders, typically at the color change point.
    • Preferably, use our official WANHAO DUAL profile. 
    • Disable the temperature drop when changing extruders in your slicer.
